I’m finally taking time to write about myself–or about the author. I have tried to include only the most relevant facts.
In 2023, I had been writing in my blog since 2011 and my website needed to be redone. For example, it worried me that I had more than a thousand subscribers that I hadn’t approved, and many of them had similar email addresses. So, I asked my hosting company to build a new website. Unfortunately, the new website was much worse.
New Website Disaster
I won’t even tell you what they charged me. I should have known better, but I had used Bluehost services for years so I didn’t compare prices. Big mistake.
Probably the most noticeable website issues from the reader’s point of view would have been the sappy meta description and ridiculous wording that appeared on Google. I didn’t write it and I don’t know who did. It was never presented to me for my approval. Worse, it didn’t show up in the normal course of editing articles so I never addressed it.
The word they used in the description was something like ‘methodogical’. Obviously, that’s not even a word. I saw it before the first new website went live and I requested that it be removed, but I now know they didn’t remove it. It may still be floating around on the Internet because it appeared in a few places in my transferred data. I hope it’s gone now but if you see it, I didn’t put it there.
Change of Heart
I had a longer list of woes but I deleted them because they don’t match the tone of this website. They are still an issue but it’s not necessary to talk about them at this time.
