The climate crisis may seem overwhelming, but our individual actions make a difference. They are like tributaries to a mighty river of justice and peace. These tributaries are not only actions, but individual identities of name, political persuasion, family, or faith communities. In a time where division seems inevitable, we have an opportunity to join with other people of good will in love and appreciation for our common home. Both the invitation and the way it is worded are inspired by the Laudato Si’ Movement, but it holds hope for a secular world. All that’s necessary is enough humility to listen and consider, and then to become part of the river.
